Add initiators to hosts
Storage hosts are systems that use storage system LUN resources. A logical unit number (LUN) is an identifier that is used for labeling and designating subsystems of physical or virtual storage.

About this task
To add initiators to hosts:
Steps
- Select the storage system.
- Select .
- Select the host and click the number next to Initiators in the details view to open the Initiators view.
- Click Add Initiators.

Select an initiator from the
Available Initiators list and click
.
- Select the Fibre radio button to filter the available initiators table to display Fibre Channel initiators only, select the iSCSI radio button to filter the table to display iSCSI initiators only, or select the NVMe/TCP radio button to filter the table to display NVMe/TCP initiators only. The Fibre radio button is selected by default.

Select one or more initiators and click
to add the selected initiators to the host.

Click the
button to the right of
Initiators in Host to add an initiator. Type the Initiator name and select
OK.

Do one of the following:
- Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
- Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
